Privacy is a core principle of Typesider. We’re designed to reward productivity while respecting your privacy, collecting only what’s reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and protect the platform.
We don’t record, capture, store, analyze, transmit, or monitor the content of anything you type. We only measure verified activity required to calculate eligible Tyzaps.
We never record your screen
- No screenshots or screen recording
- No application or document monitoring
- No clipboard access
- No password monitoring
- No audio or video recording
- No access to files stored on your device
We follow data minimisation — collecting only what’s needed to provide our services, verify eligible activity, calculate rewards, secure accounts, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. We never sell, rent, trade, or license your personal information to advertisers or data brokers, and privacy and security are built into our systems by design.
What we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Typesider.
Information you provide
- Name, username, and email address
- Password (stored using secure one-way hashing — we can’t view your original password)
- Mobile number, date of birth, gender, city or state (all optional)
- Referral or promotional codes
- Customer support communications, survey responses, and feedback you choose to share
Technical information
- Device identifiers, fingerprints, model, and operating system version
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Session timestamps, login history, and authentication events
- Network information, diagnostic data, crash reports, and performance metrics
Activity information
- Verified Tyzaps, Typoints, Streaks, Lives, and achievements
- Daily goal completion, leaderboard rankings, and reward eligibility
- Reward redemption and referral activity
These metrics represent verified platform activity only — they never include the content of your typing or your personal documents.
What we don’t collect
Typesider is intentionally designed not to collect or monitor personal content. We do not collect:
- Typed text or passwords entered into websites or apps
- Banking credentials, card numbers, or one-time passwords
- Clipboard contents, screenshots, or screen recordings
- Photos, videos, or audio/webcam/microphone recordings
- Files, documents, emails, or chat messages on your device
- Browsing history, GPS location, biometric data, or contact lists
That distinction sits at the centre of how Typesider is built.
How we use your information
We process personal information only for legitimate purposes necessary to operate and protect the platform.
Account management & platform operations
- Creating and managing accounts, authenticating users, and providing support
- Calculating Tyzaps, Typoints, Streaks, and Lives, and unlocking achievements
- Determining leaderboard rankings, reward eligibility, and promotional programs
Fraud prevention & platform integrity
- Verifying legitimate activity and detecting duplicate accounts
- Enforcing our One User = One Account policy
- Detecting bots, scripts, macros, emulators, virtual machines, and spoofing
- Investigating suspicious behaviour and security incidents
These checks are used solely to protect Typesider and are never used to monitor what you type, record your screen, access your personal files, or build advertising profiles. We also don’t use personal information for behavioural advertising or automated decisions related to employment, credit, insurance, or financial eligibility.
Tyzap Insights
Certain features require Tyzap Insights to remain enabled. It helps verify eligible activity necessary for Tyzaps, Typoints, Streaks, Lives, achievements, leaderboards, and promotional rewards.
Typesider may be unable to verify your activity. During such periods, Tyzaps may not be counted, Typoints may not be awarded, Streaks may not continue, achievements may not unlock, and reward eligibility may be affected.
Tyzap Insights measures only the information required to verify eligible activity — it does not record what you type or monitor your personal content.
Rewards, cookies & analytics
Typesider uses verified activity to determine eligibility for promotional rewards, including gift cards, coupons, discount vouchers, promotional merchandise, and partner benefits. Eligibility depends on verified Tyzaps, successful fraud screening, account integrity, and compliance with our Terms & Conditions.
Participation in promotional programs doesn’t create an employment relationship or guarantee future rewards.
Cookies & similar technologies
Our website may use cookies to authenticate users, maintain sessions, remember preferences, improve security, prevent fraud, and measure performance. You can manage certain cookie preferences through your browser settings.
Analytics & diagnostics
To improve platform quality, we may collect crash reports, diagnostic information, performance metrics, and usage statistics. Where practical, this data is aggregated or pseudonymised and used solely to improve reliability and performance.
Sharing & legal basis
Where required by law, we process personal data based on your consent, performance of our agreement with you, compliance with legal obligations, fraud prevention, platform security, or other legitimate business purposes. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time, though this may limit access to certain features.
We share limited data only where necessary, and only with service providers required to process it solely on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.
- Cloud hosting, infrastructure, and authentication providers
- Customer support, fraud prevention, and cybersecurity providers
- Analytics and diagnostic providers, and payment processors
- Reward fulfilment and gift card partners
- Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, or legal representatives
- Government authorities, regulators, courts, or law enforcement, where required or permitted by law
We may also integrate with third-party services such as payment providers and gift card issuers. Where you use or redeem these, your interaction may be governed by that third party’s own privacy policy — Typesider isn’t responsible for their practices beyond the scope of our own processing.
Security & international transfers
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational security measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction, including:
- Encryption in transit and, where appropriate, at rest
- Secure password hashing and access controls
- Security monitoring, audit logging, and vulnerability assessments
- Fraud detection systems and periodic security reviews
- Disaster recovery and backup procedures where appropriate
We or our service providers may process or store information in jurisdictions outside your country of residence where necessary to operate the platform. Where data is transferred internationally, we apply reasonable contractual, technical, and organisational safeguards in line with applicable law.
Although we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.
Retention & deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the platform, verify rewards, maintain security, investigate fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations. When it’s no longer required, it’s securely deleted, anonymised, or otherwise disposed of.
Deleting your account
You can request account deletion through the platform. Once deleted, your profile is deleted or anonymised, and Typoints, Tyzaps, Streaks, Lives, achievements, and promotional benefits are permanently forfeited. Pending reward claims are cancelled and unclaimed rewards expire.
This includes what’s necessary for fraud prevention, security investigations, audits, dispute resolution, tax obligations, or enforcing our Terms & Conditions. We may also retain a minimal cryptographic hash derived from your deleted account’s email — solely to prevent duplicate registrations and fraud. It can’t reasonably be used to reconstruct your original email and is never used for advertising or marketing.
Deleted accounts can’t be restored. Where re-registration is permitted, it must use a different eligible email address in line with our Terms & Conditions.
Your rights & contact
Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access, correct, or update your information, request deletion where legally applicable, withdraw consent, nominate another individual to exercise your rights where permitted, and submit complaints about how we handle your data. We may require reasonable identity verification before fulfilling certain requests, and may decline requests where retention is required by law or necessary to protect legitimate interests.
We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone not legally eligible to use the platform. If we learn an ineligible individual has created an account, we may suspend or terminate it and delete the associated data where appropriate.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or business operations. Material changes will be communicated through the platform, by email, or other reasonable means, and continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
